First off, I am hating that the weather is so terrible in OK!  Although it isn't what I would call sunny Southern California weather here, at least it isn't raining ice!  Everyone stay safe and warm and if you are one of the lucky ones who gets to stay home from work, be sure to carve out some scrapbooking time--maybe scrapbook your pics from last summer when it was 101 degrees out!

Now, for a CHA update....Today was my last full day here and I spent it returning to booths to get a second look at some of my favorites:  Fancy Pants--love the Summer Soiree Collection and the Window Embellish Me Frames, Cosmo Cricket--the spinner cards are just as cute in person!  Bo Bunny has "Build-Your-Own-Word" Books I am excited about, and of course I took lots of pics of samples at the QuicKutz booth!  Isn't this one cute?  I would sooo hang this in my house--just cut your alphas and put them on a canvas with Diamond Glaze over the top and TA DA--a high-end looking piece of ART! 

I have seen lots of "famous" designers roaming the aisles--Jennifer McGuire, Emily Falconbridge, Greta Hammond and Donna Downey.  And....got to meet Teresa Collins!  She was very nice and showed me her FIVE new lines--all which have been ordered!!

I know you will all be anxious to hear I checked out the new Paris Hilton products, and I hate to disappoint, but that won't be something we will be getting in the store.  I didn't think any of our customers would need an album with a rhinestone PH on the front!!???  Who's next??  Britney?:)

Anyway, I am hoping and praying I make it home tomorrow--am ready to see my hubby and Rufus (the Bassett Hound) and of course all of you, my sweet customers.  TaTa for Now!

CHA Excitement!

Today was the first day of CHA--the Craft and Hobby Association trade show that is held twice a year.  I am here in Anaheim (no sun and all too cool for California) and made it through most of the show today, albeit a quick buzz through most booths.  Tonight will scour the catalogs to pick and choose all the cutest, most exciting products to be back to SBFTH!

One order I did place today was Basic Grey!!  Four new collections that are full of lively colors and compelling images.  The first collections start shipping in 2-3 weeks!  Woo Hoo!

Several Celebrity sitings today:  Heidi Swapp demonstrating her new Paper Invisibles and Mega Masks, Tim Holtz demoing alcohol inks and yes Paris Hilton was here!

It's Spring Retreat Time!

SBFTH offers two getaway retreats every year: one in the spring and one in the fall. We go to Canyon Camp in Hinton, OK and we have uninterrupted cropping Friday night through Sunday afternoon. There are goodie bags and T-shirts for everyone, doorprize drawings all weekend long, and so many snacks you'll never have to feel a hunger pang! We take merchandise and set up a mini store in case you run out of your most-needed supplies! The rooms are hotel quality with heat and A/C. And Saturday night offers some of the funniest skits you'll ever see! If you look at the Retreat Photo Album just to the right on this blog you'll see some more fun pics from past retreats. 

Each retreat has its own theme and this spring our theme is "Boot Camp!" So start combing the Army surplus stores for your own set of fatigues, gather up your platoon of scrapbooking buddies, and be prepared to whip your albums into shape! Mark your calendar for May 15-17 and march down to the store to make a deposit! You'll be so glad you joined us at Canyon Boot Camp!
